Julianah Ahmadu, known as Iya Ghana, founded Akwaaba Catering Services in 2015 to address the dissatisfaction of Nigerian hosts at festivities despite their high spending. Initially cooking for free, she later charged a small fee to support young helpers and buy equipment.
Her business, named after the Ghanaian word for "welcome," now focuses on creating youth employment, embodying the motto: "You are always welcome to the feast."
